So wow, the new year. I guess now is as good of time as any to make those resolutions, goals and promises for the new year. I have been thinking what my own personal "resolutions" would be.....and this is what I came up with, they are probably better called goals for the new year. I hope to be more like Christ, to grow closer to Him this year than I was last year. To be a better wife and mother, to be more patient and more outgoing. To spend my time more wisely and to spread Chirst's love more efficently. I want to do more with my life this year than I did last, to make an impact on this world in the fight against the enemy. I hope to inspire my child to pick up her cross and start a crusade that leads to a revival for her generation. I want to make a difference, a mark.....something that means something to someone other than myself. I want to pray more, stay busy less, and to read everything. I want to increase my quiet time, and decrease my stress. I want my family to be proud of me and never have a doubt that there mom is not just a christian, but a daughter to the King and takes that responsibility to heart. Lets hope that the new year holds many "news" and "betters", than last......I think a little bit goes a long way, a small amount of motivation can move the masses. I just hope to pick up the momentum and roll with it. Happy New Year!! Oh and I cant leave you without a few pics of the little one.......

So our lives are a little hectic with a 7 month old around here. It makes the holidays have an extra special magic to have children around. Sonny and I really are enjoying this Christmas season with Savannah in the house. She loves the twinkling lights on the Christmas tree, and the glittery snowmen......It is just a new adventure everyday as she discovers more and more about her environment. Her favorite toys I would say are the telephone and our remote control....okay so those aren't really toys but she things so. She really enjoys her tickle me Elmo she got as a gift, she thinks he is hilarious, and we think that is hilarious. She now knows when she drops something that it landed somewhere around her, it did not magically disappear. So she is sleeping all night now that she can find and replace her passy on her own. She has moved into her nursery and is sleeping in her own bed full time!! yea for her, YEA for us. I didn't think I would sleep as well with her so far away, turns out I sleep better!! HA HA!! I will try to be better about posting but with the holidays just around the corner, NO promises...... :)

For my Florida friends this is "Big Tex" (he talks about different things about ever 5 minutes or so) behind us. Savannah was really interested she just kept staring and every time he would talk she would turn to watch. He really is synonomous with the fair. One of the main attractions, seeing what he is wearing each year and of course the food coming in at number 2. I know one of the big food items was fried bacon, we didnt go there. However we did have plenty of funnel cakes, tator twisters, and Fletchers corny dogs to go around!!

So we went to the state fair, thinking we would only be able to stay like a couple of hours for obvious reasons, we have a 4 month old. But to our surprise we were able to be there about 4 1/2 hours she actually took her nap in the stroller. Who would have thought!! I guess God just knew that Sonny and I had to get some much needed R&R, and a little time out of the house was just the thing! We had so much fun looking at all the exhibits, this is Sonny taking in the bees, but there are more pics to come. I havent been a good blogger lately but its not for a lack of picture taking. Sonny actually has over 850 pics on his memory card so needless to say it takes a pretty big time committment for me to wait for all those to download each time. You think, well just delete the old ones after you have downloaded them.....he doesnt like to delete. I will let yall help me with that one!

So I go to this place because they said they had packages starting at 9.99 and that sounds really reasonable to me. However they didnt for warn me they were so good at taking pictures and that I would have to choose only one pose. Gosh Sonny is going to have his hands full, not to brag, but she is soooo GORGEOUS!!! So lets see at three months she plays with rattles, hits all the toys on her toy mat, smiles at anyone, laughs on her own without prompting (really funny to us too), she weights in at about 12 pounds. She loves being outside with out question, she is very alert, is almost cooing in full sentences, loves to make bubbles and I do mean loves. She is really enjoying sucking on her hands whenever she can land them in her mouth. Also she is on a very good schedule now, great for her and me, we both know when is sleep time and what is awake time. I cannot tell you how much of a blessing it has been to be able and be home with her to take in all these moments. God is soo good.

Not sure why these pics are so small?? Well we just returned from Florida reluctantly might I add!! We had so much fun, Savannah met the other half of her DNA. We all had so much fun, and obviously she was the spotlight, everyones entertainment. These are big shoes to fill so she slept a lot while we were there. We had a great time and cannot wait to go back!! We are glad to be home.

I didn't think it was possible but she gets prettier everyday!!

So yesterday was Savannah's 2 month birthday!! We took her to the doctor today to get all her shots. They gave her 4 in the legs and one oral vaccination, she didn't even cry!! I think she gets that from her mother! So she weighs 10 pounds and 13 ounces. Her head is 15 1/8 inches which is 40%, height is 22 1/2 inches long which is 50%, and her weight is 50%. The doctor asked lots of developmental questions then did an exam for himself. He told us that she is advanced in being so alert, holding her head up on her own (which she has done from birth) and being able to reach and grab toys already!! He said that she is more like a 3 month old and some 4 month olds!! Of course this is not news to her parents we have always believed that she was a step above the rest!! She is making lots of sounds, and enjoys about 1 and half hours of playtime in between naps. She loves to smile, and she laughs. She can grab toys and wont let them go, also she loves to kick when she is on the floor. She kicked for an hour the other day on her mat, she just kept hitting the same toy because it makes a chime sound and she really got a kick out of it (haha)!!! She is just changing so fast we cant keep up with her. Playing and sleeping wow what a life!! We love her......she is a bigger Daddy's girl everyday. They are two peas in a pod!

Swimming for the first time.
This just cracks me up!!

So fourth of July this year, Sonny and I had my parents over for dinner. We decided that Savannah needed to go swimming. I had already bought her this little swimsuit so all we needed was the pool. Sonny ran to walmart and came home with this giant frog! She had a lot of fun, we had to make the water warm she wasn't havin that cold water, so sonny brought buckets of hot water from the sink in the kitchen outside. She only lasted about 30 minutes then she was all done. We dried her off, fed her, let her nap, then we were off to the mall for fireworks. When we got there we realized that everyone must have gotten the memo and it was packed. They had all the roads surrounding the mall roped off and it was pushing cars all into the same one lane. It was crowded but we finally found a spot. Once we walked to the center of the mall, where the fountain is that we are at in picture one, we saw lots of booths, with crafts, jewelry and purses. Of course mom and I headed straight in for them dragging dad and sonny. The weather was really nice, almost over cast and very breezy. Well we lasted at the mall maybe 2 hours before we were all ready to throw in the towel!! We headed home and begun a Wii tournament, to see who could hula the most!! Of course Sonny was secretly videoing the whole thing much to my mothers dismay. It took all the bribery in the world to even get her to give it a whirl!! Dad caught on fast and I'm pretty sure he's addicted now!! Well to wrap the night up we all had ice cream then called it a night!! What a fun day!!

Okay so at this point I think I was the one having the fun!
Yes she is actually hitting the toy right there (mostly by accident) but I'm her mother what do you expect??
Oh and yes, she is standing with her feet touching the floor of her exersaucer. She's getting so big :( !!!

So Savannah and I (okay mostly me) wanted to change things up a little today and we attempted to have some fun in our exersaucer. I'm sure its a little early for climbing in and actually knowing what to do in this big pink chair, but I thought our tummy time was getting a little mundane. We did have fun, she mostly stared at everything with the occasional whacking of the toys with her arms (again more accidental than anything). So today we officially took PLAYTIME to a new level!!

Savannah week 5&6

So Savannah seems to have new tricks for us everyday!! She is smiling when we talk to her and Im not sure who gets the bigger kick out of it her or us!! She is also trying to talk to us, she tries so hard to get these noises out that it is soo cute and could be easily confused with her I am pooping face!! So I figured out by accident one day that she can be screaming and if you take her outside she stops, instantly. I was fixing her bottle and we needed to wait for it to warm so naturally her food alarm was going off. I decided to walk to the mailbox while we waited and instantly as I opened the front door and the gush of warm air hit her she stopped crying. So now we sit out back with her while we are waiting on bottles and go for walks at night when we get fussy. It is equally as funny that when I came back in from getting the mail that the crying resumed as if it had never stopped!! Also we went to the dr. this week and we are up to 9 pounds 4 ounces!! Yea, we are gaining!!

Okay so time is flying by sooo fast, I just cant put on the brakes enough. She is growing like a weed, and filling out more and more every day!! She is starting to loose her "newborn" look, and begin to look a little more chubby. Which I love by the way. She has the sweetest temperment, her cry makes me laugh....I know Im a horrible mom, but its just so darn cute (for now)!!! So week four, we are getting so close to our "one month" birthday!! We got a new floor playmat that we tried out and loved. She makes the funniest noises as she swings her arms and kicks her feet aimlessly trying to make contact with any of the hanging toys that she can. I soon realized that the middle one was hanging a little low after it hit her in the face about 3 times. She was all done after that!! She is just changing everyday, and I am just in amazement of her....We are soo lucky to have her, I guess God knew what he was doing.

Savannah Week 3

We really enjoyed Tummy time!!

Wow how time flies....especially when you live and die by every 2 hours. We eat every 2 hours, change our diaper and even play for 30 minutes or so. The days just seem to fly by, and then there are the naps....lots of naps, for both of us. So this week held lots of "firsts" for us. We had our first bath, our first tummy time on the floor, our belly button fell off (first and only time), we read our first books together, our first time at church and she is making the cutest cooing sounds consistantly for the first time!! What a great week for us!! Also I took her to the mall for the first time, and really the retail therapy was for me not her. I just didnt realize that by the time I fed her loaded her and got to the mall it would really be time to turn around, come home and feed her all over again. We are learning together!! Savannah Week 2

This is where the doc had to stick me to do my newborn screening!! Boo!
So this is after we got home from the doctor, it was a pretty traumatizing appt, but Im not sure if it was worse for Savannah or Daddy!! So this is recooping at home!!

So week 2 has been a little calmer than week 1. I feel like we finally got into a routine, somewhat. So this week Savannah has been holding her head up better than ever! She smiles at us and even does the funniest little chuckle. Sonny and I just stare at her hoping that she will do it again. Then we start laughing and she keeps smiling. We all just get a big kick out of it. She grew 1 and 1/4 inches since birth, so she is 20 and 1/4 inches long now and her head is still 14. Her hair is still growing and her eyebrows look a little lighter. She is eating about 1 1/2 ounces now and doing great. We did take her to the doctor today and she has lost more weight! She was down another 3 ounces. So we have to feed more often and try to get her up to 2 ounces. Monday we will go back to the doc to get her weighed again. Hopefully we can beef her up over the weekend!! Here are some pictures of her at 2 weeks!!

Savannah Week 1

Well Im a little behind, who would have guessed that someone so little could be so much work and require so much attention. Savannah during her first week could already hold her head up bobbling of course, and had about 30-45 minutes of awake and alert time after each feeding. Speaking of feeding she has already been to the emergency room, she was 3 days old, for dehydration. Apparently she wasnt eating and had gone from 8 pounds 4 ounces to 7 pounds 7 ounces in just 3 days. They are allowed to loose 10% of their body weight over the first week, just not that fast!! She was already at the 10% max in just 3 days!! So on day 6 she went to see our pediatrician who we love, and had already gained 7 ounces!! A pretty remarkable come back!! Also in her first week she got to meet her GG and Papa (Sonny's Parents), we were so glad to have them. I know she enjoyed every minute of play time with both of them. We are soo blessed to have her and learn more about her everyday!! Here are some pictures of her on her one week birthday!!

Savannah Elizabeth Goodwin

So the day finally came May 21st 2008 Sonny and I offically became parents!! We proud to introduce Savannah Elizabeth Goodwin!! She weighed in at 8 pounds 4 ounces, and 19 inches long. She has dark black hair and dark eyes (not sure who she is taking after there, neither Sonny or I have those....). Being a mom is better than I imagined, but most things God provides are.....I love her and cannot wait for the times ahead!!

Due Date

So the inevitable has happened. We made it to our "due date" and still no baby. What really is a due date anyways?? For me just a big tease....So we will start the induction process Tuesday night and she will be here sometime Wednesday afternoon. I really think this will be the best possible situation for Sonny as he doesn't handle these types of situations with out panicking. So we will be able to gather all our stuff and head to the hospital in a cool, calm, collected manner. We cannot wait to introduce our little one to all of you!!

Rocket Science.....

So first comes the "Seat Protector" I should have known how long this would take after we had complications getting this into place!!
I knew we were in trouble when I saw him go for the manual!! Women you know what Im talking about!!
I began to feel his pain by this point!!
Finally we did it!! We are ready to bring Savannah home with us!! Hope she was paying attention!!

Apparently they don't make car seats "Parent Friendly". I mean anything that comes with a 100 page instruction manual, just doesn't say, "you can sling me in the car on your way to the hospital no problem." So the instillation begins.....We decided that since I will be 40 weeks on Thursday that last night was the perfect time to put our car seat in the car, just in case! Wishful thinking mostly, I put my bags in there on Friday. I guess I'm really just hoping that Savannah will get the hint and bless us with her presence. So here are some pictures of Sonny (my engineer) installing what we thought would be a simple car seat. BTW he was frustrated that I kept laughing and snapping pictures instead of holding the flash light and reading the manual out loud to him, so if he looks a little upset, its because he is...... :)

Sonny and I are expecting our first child. We are due May 16th, next Friday, and we are sooo excited. The nursery is all ready, my mom and I made all of Savannah's bedding and curtains. I had a mural painted for her wall and have put all the finishing touches in her room. The only thing missing now is her!! Here are a few pictures of her nursery just to show off our hard work!
